Homestay Student

Stella our homestay student loved working on Levi's puzzle.
She spent every night after school working on it.
Here she is just after she finished it.

Here the kids our saying goodbye to Stella and her sister Judy.
Stella was able to stay with us for about 3 weeks. Judy spent
two weekends with us. This picture was taken the morning
that we took them to the airport. Home for them is Taipei, Taiwan.
We enjoyed the experience and look forward to our next student in
a couple of weeks.

100 lbs of Tuna

We final got the call for tuna just after Mike left for Montana. So guess who got stuck going to get it and putting it up?

I asked a friend to go with me Kymberly McIntosh. We made a day out of it.
She decided to get some for her self. So the kiddos got to watch them gut and clean the fish.

We marinated the tuna and then smoked it and then placed it in the jars to pressure.
It was very time consuming and very stinky but the tuna is yummy!

Peach Picking at Perryhill Farms

I took Levi & Kate to Pick Peaches.
I did most of the picking though.
They had more fun riding the wagon.
They would get on at the top of the orchard
and ride it down hill the orchard was on a slope
so it was like going sleigh riding.

We ended up with 84 lbs. of peaches.
So we have been busy canning and making pies.

Crater Lake

July 24, 2009 We visited the deepest Lake in the United States It's depth is 1,943 feet and the Lake width is 4.5 to 6 miles. Crater Lake receives an average of 44 feet of snow each year. The last time the Lake froze over was in 1949. We drove onto Klamath Falls where we found out there is not a falls but we found a campground near by and spent the night.
We saw some beautiful country.

Here is the campground site we stayed out near Klamath Falls.
We had a good time but got eaten by mosquito's.

Trail of Ten Fall (Silver Falls in Silverton Oregon)

Yesterday we took a trip to Silver Falls. It is Oregon's largest state park. It's over 9,000 acres. You can view over 10 waterfalls in 10 miles. We saw 2 of them in about 3 miles. We had a good time. Here our a few photos of our trip.

The McIntosh's were our tour guides they took us on a 3 mile hike. Then we found a sunny place and enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

I really am going to miss this!
